Album Notes

Daly's soothing, soulful voice has earned her frequent comparisons to Sara Bareilles and Fiona Apple. But for her debut EP, the 26-year old Michigan-born pianist singer-songwriter brings a lot more than her voice to the table. A multi-instrumentalist with a Masters in Composition from New York's Stony Brook University, and a writer and shoestring-world-traveler on the side, Andrea has crafted a growing song collection that reflects the deepest colors of her experiences.

Sometimes punchy and confidant, as in "Better By The Day" (an amusing anthem to an ex) and other times softly woven in captivating detail (like "Brave," a track about the combination of hope and loss), Andrea's music shimmers and turns unexpectedly. "Roll Over Baby" is a rollicking and infectious tune that thumbs its nose at the idea that people can be fit into society's boxes. "Not For Sale" is beautiful in its heartfelt simplicity. And the final track, "Home," was written for a younger sister, but it speaks to a universal need to return to one's roots - and maybe even to a bowl of chicken noodle soup...
If this is where Andrea's roots have led her thus far, then have much to expect from this creative young artist.
