ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Andy Denny is a Georgia native who has been playing and singing around his home town for 30 years. His song "'59 Chevy" is about his friend Dan's first car and their failed attempts at chasing girls in it and friend Frank's old Truetone guitar and their failed attempts at learning to play. (Remembering most of those girls, I wish we still had the car and the old guitar). "Over You" is a tongue-in-cheek look at how some people never really get over failed love. ("I threw out all your love letters...I'd memorized them anyway.") One key line is based on a friend's habit of waving at his intended girlfriend's house as they drove by. The most popular track is "Living Contradiction," about Denny's stepfather who could "cuss like a sailor and pray like a saint," the family gas station, and redemption. At local venues, Denny's performance of this one song has sold over 300 CD's. "Soap Sally" tells the humorous story of a fictitious old woman created by Denny's mother to make small children behave properly, and "Lauren's Song" was for Denny's daughter's wedding. "Worthy of the Nail Scars" and "Feel You Hold My Hand" are two of the singer's songs of faith. "Georgia Sweet Thang" is a rockabilly styled ode to his wife Cynthia. with that "...sexy little twang in the way she talks."

sinners saints and somewhere in between
Andy Denny has a way with lyrics that will have you tapping your toes, smiling, and maybe have a tear come in your eye. Down home music styles and tones that are pleasing to the ear. A good one for a nice drive in the country or just relaxing in your favorite chair. I recommend this one to be in anyone's collection.
