Album Notes

Aoeria is experimental alternative rock band from NY with signing & guitars by Frank Giliberti and drums by Adam Santorini and Matt Levine. The songs began with improvisations and were developed by Frank who wrotes lyrics based on the idea of channeling negative energy into positve, if sporadically laced with tongue-in-cheek sardonic humor. From dark riffs to glowing melodies sparkling acoustics and deep bass tremors, Waterwheel mixes a variety of styles and sounds including but not limited heavy rock alternative acoustic progressive and psychedelic music using interesting rhythms melodies & textures for songs that experiment in sound and song ideas. The songs resonate with intensity in their exploration of metaphysical and existential questions. Beyond the music the band augments their presence with self-made photographs of items and scenes which captured curiosity and carried the feeling of the music. The DVD version of Waterwheel expands the possibilities of the album beyond CD or LP by presenting high-definition sound with enchanting visual representations of impressions felt or somehow linked in their essence of expressioned. The songs were written organically starting with improvised riffs and rhythms that gradually took shape, which still change live, and acoustically sparked songs were written and recorded only when true inspiration struck in sporadic burst traveling between college life in Binghamton, Upstate New York as the glowing fall colors were overtaken by snow and skies welling with clouds and warn returns to the sticky ad sweaty summers in Massapequa Park on the South Shore of Long Island giving a buzzy jolt from the laconic rolling hills of New York's border with Pennsylvania

The DVD version enhances and completes Waterwheel with images that expand and unfold as the songs draw you in. It also includes extra improvs live songs and mystery songs. It also features hi-resolution 24bit 48khz sound direct from the master tapes.

Great Alternative Music

Aoeria and their album "Waterwheel" spin a collection of heavy, gritty, yet straightforward collection of Alternative Rock songs. The opener, "Apocrypha" begins with an exotic explosion of drums and guitars before mellowing down to follow a steady bass line with strong and solid vocals. "Wonder" is more of a relaxed song, at least at first, as it focuses on guitar riffs and reflective vocals before sonic excitement takes over. In "Imminent" we find enlivened drums and guitars keeping up a quick pace in a real rocker of a song. This album is one that harks back to the days when Alternative music was filled with fervent guitars and powerful drumming, while still having its own completely unique feel to it. Fans of Smashing Pumpkins material and similar music should check out Aoeria's "Waterwheel."
