Autonomy has attracted quick attention
by making delicate and subtle points with brute force.
Autonomy rose through the ranks of the Twin Cities
music scene and earned a place on the legendary
First Avenue mainstage in record time. The band is
currently playing shows throughout the upper
Midwest and has become a staple of the Minneapolis
original rock scene.

Autonomy rode this success into the studio to record
their self-titled debut album, released in 2004 on
Under the Radar records. The album was painstakingly
recorded over the course of 7 months at Back
Alley Studios, with local engineer/producer Marko at
the helm. The album showcases the band’s polished
songwriting and raw power with clarity and grace and offered a perspective on the music that live audiences had never before heard.
