Album Notes

In 1997 we recorded our first CD "Taking It Easy at the Blethering Place". The recording was enthusiastically received and was one of the five finalists in the Best Canadian Traditional Jazz Band Recording category of the Canadian Jazz Record Collectors Congress. If you were among the many who enjoyed our first CD (now in its second pressing), and inquired about the next one, here it is: "Take Two at the Blethering Place"! We hope you find this a worthy companion to our first, 1997 recording. The Bastion Jazz Band took up Sunday evening residence at the Blethering Place Tea Room, a well known landmark in the Oak Bay Village, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1996. The Band personnel remain unchanged, their dedication to New Orleans Jazz remains steadfast, but the tune list keeps growing.
