ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Bella Koshka reigns as one of Minneapolis’ most hauntingly awesome alternative rock bands...Between eerie melodies, heart-wrenching instrumentals, and Laura Boland’s sensuously tragic vocal style, this band gives you an earful of epic sound." -L'Etoile Magazine blog

"A lot of bands are incorporating orchestral strings into their indie-rock nowadays, but nobody else does it in the quirky yet dramatic way of Bella Koshka. Minneapolis' chamber-gypsy-alt-rock quintet. Named after a research outpost in Antarctica plagued with volcanic eruptions, the album "Deception Island" uses the fire/ice theme to great effect, weaving between serene and elegant to explosive and uber-moody rock, like a melding of Tori Amos, Kate Bush and Dresden Dolls." - Chris Reimenschneider / Star Tribune

Zoey

Creepy yet attractive
There's something about this album that makes you feel as if you were dropped in a Tim Burton poem or stuck in an old black white horror movie with Nosferatu asking you to dance. If your looking for something creepy that can give you chills yet make you smile I recommend this album
