Album Notes

Black Bear Combo is a six member brass/reed band. Our sound is a raucous mutt inspired by traditional music from eastern Europe and the Balkans, filtered through our own free jazz and rock backgrounds. Doug Abram: saxophones, Gerald Bailey: trumpet, Rob Pleshar: tuba, Ehsan Ghoreishi: accordion, Dersu Burrows: bass drum, Andrew Zelm: euphonium.

We've been playing since 2002 at rock clubs, basements and festivals across the country, weddings, funerals, Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, and most recently as the "Skeleton Band" at the Halloween Party at the White House.

With this cd our recordings are widely available for the first time.
