Black D birth name is DeAndre Harris. Black was high school and college basketball star, while following a hoop dream he also ventured in making music. He started making music in his late teens but he always was around the music trade through uncles aunties and his father. He was also clicked in with other musicians throughout his neighborhood. In 1996 Black D and his cousins decided to form the record company Ghetto Made. They never released any major cd’s just a lot of underground units throughout Milwaukee, Oklahoma, St. Louis, and Jacksonville that created a small buzz. After serving two back to back prison terms for possession wit intent a combined total of six years, He was released to the streets and started his solo company Hoodbred Entertainment. The first release of the company was a solo self promoted cd titled Supply and Demand which contained features from Dubsac and Twanno from Ghetto Made, Baby Drew, Biggs, Jacob, Mo, and Anthony Lattimore (Jersey Ave.), and Carmica Dionne. The Productions on the cd was done by Phoenix, Shank, and Black D himself. The cd sold over 2000 units locally and 2000 throughout the states.
Black D is set to launch his second cd “ Unda Tha Influence” the summer of 2008 and it promised to be a banger. Fourteen straight through tracks but we will be the judge of that. The cd will contain some features out the Ghettomade and Hoodbred camp and a lot of untold surprises. Productions by Phoenix and Shank. The single off the cd is “ Get IT Poppin” produced by Black D. Black D writes, produces, engineer, manage, and promotes for both companies. Black Dee was raised on the Eastside of Milwaukee. During that time, the eastside was one of the toughest and diverse neighborhoods in the city. He found love in the streets from the O.G.’s and have the love and support of his peers throughout the nation.
