"Things You Know and Love" is the third release from Black Swan Lane. This is an alternative Manchester rock album from the band that brought you 2009's number one album "The Sun and The Moon Sessions." This release was engineered and mixed by famed engineer Jeff Tomei who has engineered, mixed and produced some of the world's best acts - including the Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20, Soul Asylum, and Jerry Cantrell.
Black Swan Lane was founded in 2007 by Jack Sobel & John Kolbeck, formerly of The Messengers and the iconic Mark Burgess, formerly of The Chameleons UK and the Sun and the Moon. Their first release "A Long Way From Home" featured some of Mark's past band mates Yves Altana, Kwasi Asante & Achim Faerber. Anna-Lynne Williams of Trespassers William also added her beautiful vocals. One of the songs from this album (In the Ether) was recently featured in the major motion picture release of "Adventureland."
A year after the release of "A Long Way From Home," Jack, Mark, Andy Whitaker & Andy Clegg (both Andys formerly of the Sun and the Moon) put on a one off show in the states as The Sun and the Moon which led to the next brilliant Black Swan Lane release "The Sun and The Moon Sessions." Jimmy Oakes, one of Mark's friends from San Francisco joined the recordings as well. Kwasi Asante, a native of Ghana, who currently resides in Manchester, joined Mark & Jack in the studio seperately which led to the track "Mother Nature."
This is a true eclectic world project with unique originality and form. Mark, who recently released an incredible book called "View From a Hill," currently resides in Germany. Jack & John are currently living in Georgia, USA.

i LOVE this band!
things you know and love is black swan lane's third release and it's the BEST music i've heard in ages! the gorgeously layered music and breathy vocals are haunting. these songs are even playing in my head as i wake from dreaming. if only songs like "one life" "let me go" "leave me helpless" and "spin" were played on the radio - people would start listening to radio stations again! the intense emotion of the songs would create the perfect mood for any movie, too. you should give this band a listen - you'll be so happy you did!

If you liked the two first Black Swan Lane's albums this one is a must too. Jack Sobel's vocals are more than wonderful and it's difficult to find music as beautiful crafted as this one.
