Album Notes

This album is a perfect potrayal of the band's eclectic musical influences being combined into one, cohesive body of work from four exceptionally talented veteran musicians ... along wit ha few special guests as well. From rockin' blues to earthy ballads, and from Motown-inspired tunes to funked-out jams, this recording offers up a little of everything that the band's devoted fans have come to love about them. They put heart & soul in to every song, and you can actually hear the enjoyment the band derives from playing together. While seeing the band live is the only true way to experience their power and emotion, this album definitely stands as a testament to their talent.

Solid Blues

This is a fantastic CD by a talented and dedicated band, and an excellent follow-up to their live CD. You know how at a festival while they are changing the stage the soundman puts on a CD and you stop and listen, then go ask who it is and hope you remember long enough to pick up a copy? Many years ago it might have been the Boneshakers or more recently Derek Trucks or Tommy Castro. I'm tell you, this will be that CD for the next couple of summers. While I enjoyed all the tunes, whether super bluesy like Watered Down Whiskey, outright fun, like BBQ, or totally funky like the Funk Bros tribute, the final track (and lone instrumental) was especially moving to me. A very nice close. Keep it up, Kahunas!
