Warm, intimate up close and personal. This is good way to get to know the artist, this CD is like sitting in on a private conversation among friends. A first time acoustic performance recorded live.

The pleasure of this live recording is not only fron the recitation but from Mr. Womacks abilities. He's one of the best of the best soul singers alive, somebody who moves easily from the smoothness of Sam Cooke to the hoarse declarations of Wilson
Pickett . Performing with just a acoutic guitar , and backed by a well rehearsed and quiet quartet, he shows off all the twist and turns of his vocal improvising. Without strings, or horns or a loud rhythm section, the texture of Mr. Womack's voice stands out, and the plainess of the production gives the show a type of naked honesty that's rarely heard in pop.
