Album Notes

Bri Arden is an inspired young vocalist and songwriter who is quickly gaining a reputation on the New York City club scene. A deeply expressive performer with a wide range, Bri consistently surprises. Her youth camouflages her wisdom, and in her small frame there lives a surprisingly large voice. Perhaps unique among her generation, Bri boldly expresses a full range of experiences in her music, wholeheartedly embracing not only the sorrows, but the joys of human experience as well. Her songs reflect a genuine gratitude for experiencing the lessons of life's journey. As both a writer and a performer, Bri has the unusual ability to be totally present in the moment and to celebrate that moment. From the first note, she captivates her audience with her openness and passion.

After studying classical music at the College of Charleston, Bri came to New York and co-wrote her first album, Hours, Days and Years, with the renowned guitarist and producer Billy Masters. Billy has worked with everyone form Garth Brooks and Billy Joel to Suzanne Vega, Lyle Lovett and Kid Rock. Bri quickly gained the respect of top studio musicians from NY to Nashville, and many participated in creating Hours, Days and Years. Among them were such respected artists as Shawn Pelton, Will Lee, Marco Giavino, Jeff Allen, and Daniel A. Weiss.

In her first album Bri proves herself to be a confident stylist who adds her own special essence to even the most down-to-earth lyric. With delicate shifts she takes us on a journey few vocalists would dare to imagine, at any age. Her captivating stage presence flows from her core and is as natura l and sincere as her lyrics. We can never turn away, because we sense that rare moment when an artist is revealing all that she is, and we are captured by her absolute honesty.

Bri has been recognized within the industry, recently signing with Ben Goldman’s Blackledge Label. She continues to be in demand as a performer and frequently appears in popular New York City music venues like The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall. She is currently writing songs for her second album and has been working with John Hampson of Nine Days, amongst other artists and producers. In addition to her career, Bri attends Columbia University, believing she can create no greater art than her life’s adventures, experiences and education can inspire.
