Album Notes

Touring constantly for many years as a drumming meditation teacher, I saw America firsthand over the last twenty year. So the songs wrote themselves about my life, the people that I loved and learned with. The styles go back to my distant past playing drums with greats like, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Tim Buckley. Big Joe Turner, Allman Brothers, Mike Bloomfield, Frank Zappa, Peter Ivers and many others. So it is a mix of my many styles. The songs are word and melody songs, lots of thought went into finding the right phrases. The sound may be garage band in some spots but that is my fine art/performance art background insisting that this moment- this piece of art is the best- so live with it. Warts, pops, and all. Enjoy it too! I had help making the music. Cathy Javier has been a constant support and fan. Kelly Green provided exquisite lead guitar, picking and rhythm work as well as background harmonies and co-writing on Broadway, Soul Song Sister, Too hot to Fight. But since then alot has happened, so I won't go into details until some bridges are mended. Suffice it to say, this album means a great deal to me. There is huge love, good grooves, high aspirations and great music in it! It is dedicated to all the great musicians, songwriters and pickers that I have known. Share the Groove!
