I first sang around the campfire and that's the feel I aimed for in these songs: just a beautiful melody, a glimmering guitar, and lyrics that paint the dark with stories. Sometimes there may be one or two other instruments doing a solo, somewhere out there in the shadows. These story-songs came to me in the canyons, rivers and ghost towns of Wyoming, Arizona, Utah and Idaho. I want the listener to feel swept away to these places and stirred by the stories they tell. Is there anything better than sitting on your porch with a whisky and a map of Indian Country, losing yourself in names like 'Lost Creek', 'Grey Mountain' and 'White Horse Lake', and dreaming of the road ahead?
