just freakin fabulous every song is better than the last really good stuff hope to see more of them

If you are jonzin' for a night out of some kick-butt soulful/boogie-woogie/danceable/soulful music, but there aren't any great bands like this in your area, and you're far from San Diego, BUY THIS RECORDING, you won't be disappointed. My neighbors, the closest of which is 1/4 mile away, by no choice of their own, have also become huge fans of blues and Chet et al. It is the background music that keeps me happy, foot-tappin' and sane in rush hour traffic, and kicking my heels up when I'm doing housework. I've made love, paid bills, and even eaten biscuits and gravy to it. Best yet though, if you just want to sit and listen to some spirit-lifting blues after a seriously tough day, this is the disc for you. With a program of ten original songs and three comfortable covers, Chet Cannon and his rockin' blues band keep the beat moving throughout this live session from Etta's Place in San Diego. Bluesman Cannon sings 'em out nice and strong, leads with a down home candor, and blows a mighty mean harp. His Committee backs up each track with a convincing authority that carries the performance through over 70 minutes of jumpin' joy. Tony Agosta provides a powerful guitar signature, Jerry Yetman adds the band's bass foundation, Jonny Viau fills and complements with stellar tenor sax asides, Michael Minor colors with a rockin' drum beat, Rafael Salmon rounds out The Committee's membership with keyboard fire, as Cannon fires each salvo with a powerful thrust. Several guests (John Flynn, Ian Vatet, Paul Rosko, Dave K, and Buick Wilson) provide additional colors for this welcome session. Memphis Slim's "Lonesome" finds the band jumpin' with boogie on their minds. Snooky Pryor's "Headed South" features Cannon's soulful harp in an extended adventure that represents the meaning of the blues.
