This is the latest record from American Singer/Songwriter Chris Floyd (a.k.a. Floyd Mercy) This record was for the most part written and recorded (by design) at home. There are two songs 'Twilight' and 'Images Appear' which were produced at Tiki Town in San Francisco with Producer Scott Mathews ( Chuck Prophet, John Hiatt, Todd Rundgren, The Beach Boys) and Engineer Tom Leukens (Kronos Quartet, Metallica) The songs are well written and the production is great through out. Floyd and Mathews take their 3 dimensional production cues here from the school of Brian Wilson, Jon Brion, and Mitchell Froom. The writing brings to mind contemporaries like Josh Rouse, Josh Ritter, and Pete Yorn. Gravity & Divinity may not save you but it may save your iPod from boredom this summer.
