Album Notes

The CD "Somewhere in the Middle" is a compilation of songs I wrote over the last decade. The songs "Time" & "Get You Out of My Mind," speak my truth of a life I walked away from years before. "Free- Living in America" is a patriotic song I wrote when the war in Iraq began as a thank you to all of the men fighting for freedom and to all of the men who have served in wars past. The song itself has sparked a series of songs honoring the men who have fought for freedom in my family, which will be on my next CD Stories to Tell. The songs "Angels of Mercy" - "Little Girl " and "2 A.M." are from my CD project with The Unknown Poets entitled Angels of Mercy, which I recorded in 2002. They are songs that I felt deserved to be added to my compilation as a reminder of where I came from and were I am on my path today. "Lay Me Down" started out as an acapella song I sang at the beginning of each gig, as sort of a prayer to myself and to the audience. It manifested into a full song while recording this CD, and it took on a life of its own from there. "She Says" is a sweet song about old friends who I miss dearly. And "Hey Now" is my song of hope, my song of reminding myself that dreaming is wonderful and necessary, and that goodness is what we all deserve, we just have to listen to that voice and follow our hearts.
