After Returning from the National Finals Rodeo a few years back I knew what I needed to do. I want to explain my feelings toward music and song writing. We could sit and talk for some time about it. Straight From The Heart just hangs on the back of my heart and I wrote it just for you. My life has been busy trying to make a living like the rest of the people in this here great country. I always followed Garth Brooks on the radio. Just out of high school I was playing with bands in Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania. I loved the new experiences. With every town I went and every bar I played in I was "Just A WYOMING COWBOY" away from home. Working the rail from town to town, it felt good to see people smile and hoop it up at my songs.
Stuck in the land of money (or in my case lack of it), I moved from job to job. Whoever paid me the most is where I called home. In the working world it took this Wyoming Cowboy 20 years to hear the wind call him home to the ranch to write. Don’t get me wrong, I still have to work for a living. At this time it’s the coal mines in Montana. I can say this, every town I worked in and the people I experienced, still hold with me. I picked up the old guitar and started writing songs about my life.
Well to make a long story short, HERE I AM, still "Just A WYOMING COWBOY". I Ranch when I can afford it, but it’s hard to keep up with the interest of the Banks. Driving over 100 miles a day to work the coal mines of MONTANA can cash you out pretty darn fast.
Enough about me though, this letter is to all my friends who have helped me out. My friend, David Stewart, has been a huge help in kicking me off the chute gate from a spectator to a real musician. From writing to playing, he has been a help to me. My dearest wife, DEB, for putting up with me and all the bells and whistling that goes along with this RIDE. She always supports me. Gloria, for following the winds south to make music. Lynn Young, playing songs with me.
I am "Just A Wyoming Cowbot, and we don’t make much money to spend on recording. Family first. My heartfelt thanks goes out to you for buying my song and helping me live the American dream. I can't do it without YOU.
Thank you to all my friends across this great country and beyond to others.
