Album Notes

This recording is the fulfillment of a dream. For over twenty years I have played the stages of Broadway and America's most beautiful theaters in some of the most enchanting musicals of our time. This recording revisits many of the wonderful songs I have had the honor to perform, and while the arrangements are departures from the traditional, they remain true to the original spirit of their source material.
I am grateful to my producers Kim Scharnberg, Chris Hajian, Jason Howland and Danni Davis for their artistry and vision. To the boys in the band (Lee Musiker, David Finck, Dave Ratajczak & Bernd Shoenhart), you blew me away - it was an honor to share the soundstage with such professionals. To Lee especially - I was transported by your playing. Thanks for leading us into a truly magical Camelot.
This recording exists because so many people have believed in me along the way. Thanks to Juliette Guthrie and Robert Cox for encouraging my potential through High School. To Ed Williams at the University of Alabama, and John Blankenchip at the University of Southern California for teaching me the ropes, and to Joe Layton at The Lost Colony for opening the door to Broadway. Special thanks to Leland Ball and Robert Goulet for my time in Camelot, to Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine for taking me Into the Woods, and to Rob Roth and Team Disney for my five glorious years as the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. To my friend and fellow USC Trojan Frank Wildhorn, thanks for letting me star in your very first musical, and giving me the gift of creating the title roles in the world premiere of Jekyll & Hyde in 1990. In celebration of that show's hugely successful Broadway tour in 2000, this recording includes four J&H songs, including duets with both my lovely leading ladies - Andrea Rivette and Sharon Brown. This is the CD's second edition, after the initial printing sold out! To all of my fans, the 'Chuckkies', who made that possible, I thank you most of all. I promise you this is only the beginning.
My success is due in large part to the tireless support and love of my beautiful wife Susan, with whom I share a truly magical life. Together with our children, Stewart and Paige, we are living the Dream and more.
