Album Notes

First Fruit
From 1988 to 2001 , 13 years and hundreds of hours of recording , I began my work as an engineer under the tutelage of my ex-husband Delaney Bramlett . Everyday there was music, people coming and going and I recorded people including Delaney and Bonnie (Dry Bread on Hank Thompson’s Duets record ) , Albert King , Ritchie Sambora , Gerry McGee , and Albert Lee. I spent many nights playing songs for people like Ike Turner and Hoyt Axton and others. Looking back now, I know that I was a very fortunate person having all the availability to do what I enjoy most, record and sing and play and take photos. Even under the most adverse circumstances, it was always about the music. Delaney was a magnet for great musicians and there was never a shortage of them.
Thanks to Delaney’s daughter Michele for creating the Artwork for the CD.
That which Delaney knew best I am thankful for. His teaching ability and skill as a songwriter, producer, engineer and arranger, I learned it all from him. If there could be a lineage from which I was a part, none could be better. Great lessons passed down from Tom Dowd to Delaney to me, what an experience. Delaney was without a doubt a great influence in the world of music and I feel privileged to have been with him for those 13 years.
