Album Notes
Courtney Freed hails from the Pacific Northwest and currently resides in Chicago, IL. She has performed regularly and regionally in several well known theaters and nightclubs. In her debut album, "Happy Little Bluebird: The Music of Harold Arlen," Ms. Freed shares with us her dynamic vocals, which incorporate the styles of a sexy, smooth, 1930's Chicago speakeasy singer and the contemporary pop sound that has become the signature of Broadway showstoppers. Through imaginative arrangements by Reece Marshburn, Courtney takes us on a journey from a smoky underground jazz club, up above the chimney tops, to an unlikely jungle and beyond. With "Happy Little Bluebird," Courtney shares with us this beloved music that she was born to sing.
