Having received rave reviews for their compilation album "Through The Years", released in 2006, Berlin-based band CRYSTAL PALACE is proud to present its latest epic "RESET".
After taking an extensive break, the return of former band-member Jürgen Hegner on guitars and recruiting new drummer Feliks Weber, the band began to work on the new album two years ago in their new recording studio with the understanding to do anything they please. And that is exactly what they did.
Being as critical on themselves as never before, the band discarded some songs already elaborately worked on from the album. Some songs have already been presented live on stage.
CRYSTAL PALACE have never before been as heavy, soaring, dramatic and spherical. The gentle listener is in for 60 minutes of spell-binding music. Every song on the album sounds dramatically different.
For the raging "Sons Of God", the most political song the band ever recorded, samples of the voices of victims of 9/11 and theire bereaved were used.
There's "The Darkest Hour", which starts out psychedelic and heavy, becoming melancholic and romantic at the end.
There's the luring "Distant Shores", the straight-grooving and melodic "Drowning On Dry Land", the epic, throbbing "Break My Wings" and, a first for the band, the cinematic soundfile "Cincescope Dreams".
CRYSTAL PALACE wrote and produced the album themselves.
