Album Notes

This initial offering from Dale Doerman and Ludlow Divide opens with the rockabilly sounds of "Mississippi Sweetheart" and includes character-laden song stories like "Cowboy from Far", "Just Because" and "Sunset Serenade"; A more traditional country sound comes through with "Lord Only Knows", "Troubled Time" and "Loser’s Lullaby" while "Charm of Chevalier" and "Gotta Know" are definitely blues infused. You’ll find some humor as well in "Rollerderby Queen" and "Sneakin’ In". Doerman shakes the rock with his Gospel take-off "Lovin’ Nature" which he describes as a hymn for those who worship at the Church of the Great Outdoors and he recalls the terror of Katrina in "Date on a Stone". His hometown audience will delight in the local focus of "Cincinnati Snowbound Blues" and "Gliding Out". The final cut "Don’t Stop Wonderin’" reminds the listener that there are important issues whose outcome can only be determined by personal commitment.

Gliding Out - Great Blues!

Dale Doerman’s Gliding Out is packed with great songs. Mississippi Sweetheart kicks off the CD with some fun, rocking blues and then we get a change up with Cowboy from Far, which shows off Dale’s great lyric writing and feel for the story-song. So many great blues tunes here and Dale’s voice has the right character for bringing them to us. A lot of fun songs, too. Be sure to check out Rollerderby Queen. If you love the blues, and great songwriting, you’ll want to have this CD in your collection.
