Album Notes

Sailors Gone exists at the crossroads of different musical worlds: some hear soul with a touch of rock, while others call it progressive rock with a funky edge. With its unexpected chord progressions and imaginative grooves, it will keep the rock & roll lovers dancing while satisfying the jazzheads with its musical depth and complexity. Dan Moses’ soulful lead vocals tell stories of sailors lost at sea, artists coming of age, and letters from the open road and his tight vocal harmonies and vibrant orchestrations complete this euphoric musical journey.

About Dan:
Dan Moses, born Daniel Moses Schlessinger, is a multi-instrumentalist from Berkeley, CA. A jack of several trades, Dan has three degrees in three different subjects. He got his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley before moving to Boston to earn a Masters degree in Jazz Saxophone at New England Conservatory of Music. After playing jazz in Brooklyn for nearly 7 years, Dan moved back to the Bay Area where he just finished a second Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (with a focus in audio technology) from Stanford University. Over the last few years, Dan has shifted his compositional focus from jazz to rock, drawing influences from Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Dr. John, and Chico Buarque as he penned Sailors Gone.

Sailors Gone features Dan Moses on lead vocals, keyboards, and saxophone.
