Danny Faragher is best known as the founding member of the bands… the Peppermint Trolley Company, Bones, and the Faragher Brothers. On "A Blue Little Corner" he steps into the solo spotlight to serve up his unique talents, singing, and playing harmonica, keyboard, and trombone. The album features Danny's soulful voice, and expressive harp solos, and moves smoothly through several genres. Says Faragher - “I chose a couple of originals along with some old chestnuts my mother used to sing when I was a youngster."
The CD kicks off with the original title cut, “A Blue Little Corner", a jazzy blues which evokes Fifties cool, and a film noir atmosphere. Next, we shuffle down that lonely line with "Blues in the Night", before boogieing fast and furious on the original "Danny Boy's Jumpin". Faragher proves that the chromatic harp can swing hard with his rendition of “Stompin' at the Savoy" , and his solo on "Sunny Side" is a nod to Louis Armstrong. "Memories of You" spotlights a heartfelt lead, and exquisite harmonica work, while "Lady Be Good" is pure fun with exhilarating banjo fills by Bill Knopf. The set closes with two rock-a-billy numbers; "Get Rhythm", and "That's Alright, Mama", guaranteed to get you out of your seat and dancing.
