Do you ever hear a great country recording from the 1960s and ask, "Why doesn't country music sound like that anymore?"
If so, then you've clicked on the right album.
Unbridled Enthusiasm is Dave Cox's 6th album. It was recorded in analog with the aim of making it sound like a record from the 1960s. The result is nothing short of spectacular, as Cox provides real Country and Americana fans another breath of fresh air.
Cox boasts yet another great band to compliment the great songs on this album: Andy Gibson, Jimmy Clark, John McTigue, Dave Roe and John England are among Nashville's best. These guys have toured with the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams III, Loretta Lynn, Raul Malo, Mac Wiseman and Dale Watson just to name a few. Their musical prowess melds beautifully with Cox's heartfelt songwriting on such instant classics as the Porter Wagoner influenced "Cold Blooded Murder," the honkytonk heartbreaker "Killing Myself For A Song" and the contemplative "Shine Some Sun On Me." "Please Remove Your Foot From My Face" has Cox's unique penprints all over it, and "I'm Just A Human" is a take it or leave it kiss my ass kicking toe tapping tune.
If you pine for the good ol'days and enjoy some great songwriting and musicianship then you will enjoy this album. "Unbridled Enthusiasm" is yet another superb collection of songs by one of Nashville's best and most unique songwriters.

Bought this cd the other day in Nashville from Dave himself. I'm a huge fan of all his other cds, each one is great! This one has become my new favorite! If you buy only one cd off here make it this one! Might as well save you a trip back & go ahead and get copies of his others too. Great job Dave!
