ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
David Pascucci's "Imitation of Life" is a recording in the Adult Contemporary genre with a European influence. Performing songs by Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, José Promis, Janis Ian, Neil Sedaka, Dory and André Previn, Sammy Fain, Paul Francis Webster, Marc Lavoine, Joey Gian, , Norman Gimbel, Johnny Mercer, Barry Manilow, Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the self-penned song "On The Horizon" written for his father bandleader Richard E. Pascucci. David is backed on many of the songs by The Tim Gill Orchestra (Tim Gill and the Tim Gill All-Stars), along with many guest musicians as Paul Baker on Harp, Jay Terrien on Viola, Vicente G. Pena on flute and Piccolo, Emre Yilmaz on Classical Guitar, Yana Reznick on Piano, Arnold Edwards on Bagpipes, Tim Gill on Trumpet, Jon Kubis on Accordion and Piano, Pat Cloud on Banjo, Carmen Mozier on Guitar. The music is equally paralleled with package design by David Pascucci, David Kopp, Richard Kilroy and Luis Cisneros. With stunning photography by Olivier Riquelme. Included with the CD is a 32 page booklet which can be viewed onlined on David's website at davidpascucci.com.
The album is a spectacular collection of songs with arrangements by Tim Gill, Jay Terrien, David Pascucci, Michael Howard, Ian Matthews and Ayhan Sahin. The rarely performed title song "Imitation of Life" is the theme song from the motion picture of the same name starring Lana Turner and Sandra Dee. "I've always loved the meaning of the song and movie. Never pretend you are something you are not, or deny knowing someone because it might give the wrong impression to someone else. Always be who you are and be honest." Another movie theme song on the album is "Daisy" taken from the movie "Inside Daisy Clover" written by Dory and André Previn. This song first appeared on David's previous album "Inside André Previn". David decided to revisit the song with a more 'techno' haunting arrangement by Ian Matthews. The album's closing song is a epic production by Ayhan Sahin of "Close Every Door" from the Broadway Musical "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". It is truly the perfect finale to this outstanding album.
