Album Notes

"Nessun dorma" is a tribute to Braswell's opera days and to the one opera he never performed, "Turandot".

"In Those Eyes", its Spanish counterpart "En Tus Ojos", and "Say I Love You!" were written for Donald's wife, Julie. These three, "El Tormento De La Seducción", and "Pasión" are all love songs.

"Ennio" is a tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone, and Bazzani wrote a melody that is reminiscent of Morricone's own style.

"We Fall and We Rise Again" and "Look at Me" are both biographical, referring to the period of silence he endured after a car accident damaged the soft tissues of his throat in 1995. "We Fall and We Rise Again" offers hope in overcoming adversity, and "Look at Me" was written when he could not speak at all. In the liner notes of the album, he states that he now applies the song to people with other struggles.

"We Are The Same You and I", "To The Place We Call Home Again" and "Like That One Day" express a peaceful longing for the world. "We Are the Same You and I" asks the audience to consider the reasons behind tearing up the world, as everyone has the same needs. "To The Place We Call Home Again" longs for the simpler more peaceful life. "Like That One Day" is a song for the holidays. It speaks of the peace of Christmas Day and the hopes of extending that peace throughout the year.

I love the original songs in the album and very glad he included Nessun Dorma as I am an opera fan. This is very different from his first album, NEW CHAPTER. Donald is a very talented musician. I would like to hear more opera from him!
