Album Notes

I sing the prairie skies
like a painter sitting in a wheat field with a pallet and brush
patient
i wait
for the ever changing ocean above to settle long enough
long enough to catch a moment
this the road back
the one where my beloved has returned me to my roots
to have another look
you can come too
if you like

The fellas that did come along on the journey of growing these little tater gems, both to play out and to record, all had different backgrounds and together we created what I think is a project of beauty. Gordie Matthews and Byron Myhre are hard hitting, champion musicians (yet humble prairie folk) who joined us along the way. Barry Allen engineered and produced the cd and he was so fine to work with. The theme running throughout is the capturing of a prairie girls perspective on life. The tone is both happy and melancholy- a bit reminiscent of our prairie sky and seasons. I am aware that three generations of people are enjoying the homespun songs and sound. I think I can now add a fourth generation as my two nieces just sent me a congratulations we love your cd card. This makes my heart skip! This makes me want to write more songs and get on back to the studio. As for you dear listener, I want to evoke some emotion for you and I want to see your passion for life unfold as well. Beauty day! D
