Album Notes

The Creation
The debut album ¨Demise of the Blind¨ grew up slowly in our minds. We worked under the name Sabbatum as a tribute to Black Sabbath, but faced the lack of interest of getting the crowd since today’s young metal heads don’t really know BS’s music as much as the legend. We decided to try to write our music. The challenge was to create our own identity in the metal scene without any influences from our past, which is very hard since people always try to compare what you do. Luckily for us we all had a different background musically. Time will tell if we’ve been able to create a sound that will be identified as our own.

The Concept
We are trying to create a musical endeavour that is very dramatic and intense. A musical dimension that is never quite clear what it really means. We want the songs to relate to each other and be able to evolve in different directions in the future. So the listener will always wonder if the doubts from another song’s lyrics are answered somewhere else. The emotion of the music is reflected in the lyrics.

The Artwork
We fell in love with the cover artworks by chance, searching for an image that would fulfill our concept idea. It really identifies itself with the lyrics and the direction where we want to bring the story. The cover is the innocence and the backcover the darkness it faces.

The Evolution
The future objectives are to expand what we did further without limiting ourselves. Testing all styles we flirted with more intensely while trying to integrate new elements to have something fresh without losing our identity.
