The beginning of a Journey:
Eliethel's debut album, "Streams", is an instrumental album featuring an immense combination of diverse elements, a fusion of down-tempo Electronica that sometimes touches the edges of trip-hop, other times flirts with Jazz and Classical music, accentuating ethereal New-Age and Lounge soundscapes with a Rock/Pop attitude.
"My mission on this planet is simple: songwriting and composition. I write music with and without lyrics, combining electronic, rock, classical & jazz elements with an experimental mood. I like telling stories about people, for people, sometimes personal and sometimes even fiction & fairytales. I prefer to combine different elements by blending them smoothly & undetectably, creating magical, unearthly atmospheres and worlds".
"Streams", is a journey within the depths of the human dreams and wishes, the unfulfilled ones and the hopes that linger on, the feelings of rejection and the optimistic moods. Like the soundtrack of a contemplating stroll through the alleys during a rainy afternoon...
A journey along the quest of the soul:
"It's a very biographical album and also something I think that many people can relate to. I have encountered many obstacles and found little opportunities along the way of manifesting my dream. So, these songs, written throughout many years ask this question: "Do we make our life like our dreams, or does she carry us away in her streams"? But they also include, within, the answer to that question. Just like it dwells within each and every one of us. It's a hard road ahead but persistence and faith finally deliver the Dream. Despite our ups and downs, if we stay true to our purpose we will certainly reach the fulfillment of our goals".
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, Eliethel began exploring the world of music around the age of 3, using a small red plastic toy piano. By the age of 4 she started taking piano lessons. The piano became her main compositional tool, which she uses up till now, occasionally switching it for the electric guitar.
"I remember that I prefered to improvise my own little melodies instead of studying what my piano teachers had assigned me to..."
She produces her songs on her own, spending most of her evenings in the embrace of her home studio, fighting cables and strings, struggling with DAWs and plug-ins, creating sounds for the indulgence of the ears. Her Classical and Jazz background are often clearly noticed in her songs, though it is electronic music that has captured her fertile spirit. She claims it's Depeche Mode' and the Cure', whose music she would take to a deserted island, but her influences are admittedly much more diverse. She balances her time between studying composition at Ionian University, having a personal life, establishing herself online and, of course, writing more music.
What people are saying about "Streams":
"Good ambient music to me is one that you can listen to without getting a headache and without falling asleep. I recently came across an independent Greek musician named Eliethel, whose electronic-based music truly deserves notice. I'm really enjoying my new discovery in music - Eliethel rocks!"
