Elman Authement, the songwriter behind most of Thibodaux Family Church's 3 Praise project releases his first solo project entitled "Glorious Songs". If you enjoyed any of TFC's previous stuff, you'll definately want this CD also. The music showcases the many songwriting styles of Elman, from rocking praise songs Glorious Songs, A Better Way and Where We Belong. There are a couple of contemporary Christian songs like the heart touching song Strength to Strength, written by Elman and John Green of Recent Rainfall. John also joins in writing with Elman on the modern hymn "Jesus' Blood". There is a beautiful acoustic/strings version of "Psalm 23" that is joined by Kent Voisin (violin) and his wife Christine (cello). This song was written by Elman almost 25 years ago. The beautiful worship ballad "Everlasting, You Are God" is sung by Elman's daughter Joni Pitre.
There are two bonus tracks which are sure to bless you as well. "You Can't Stop The Rain" is from the standup comedy routine that Elman does. Of course, he comes out dressed as a Cajun, wearing his slicker suit (yellow rain coat) telling stories and singing songs. You Can't Stop The Rain tells us in a comical way how the Word of God is like that slicker suit. In the storms of life, it'll keep us water proof. The last song is a Country Gospel song Elman wrote for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration.
Elman's previous worship songs from the TFC Praise albums are being sung in churches across America. There is definitely a few congregational ones you'll want to add to your worship library.
