Album Notes

"Kiddo, Let Your Light Shine!" is music for children and their grown-ups. "Most of the music I actually wrote for myself!" says Emily. "It was written in a way that helped me discover and cherish my own light." As Emily's debut album, it is a fun, quirky and meaningful addition to the world of children's music. Much of the clarity and intention necessary for this project came from her experience in yoga and her connection with nature. "My hope is that it will serve as inspiration for listeners of all ages to shine as their true amazing selves."

The CD contains nine original songs, as well as two covers. The cover songs helped inspire the project for the simple profundity of their lyrics. “It’s the type of music you know so well growing up, and then one day you when you’re older, you realize how meaningful it is,” says Emily.

Artist Bio: After graduating in 2007 from Oberlin College, Emily has since committed to following her heart. A free spirit from Chicago, she continues to pursue her passions of music, yoga, and kids. She is a singer/songwriter, musician and educator, certified yoga instructor, and auntie to five amazing children.

Emily’s favorite part of singing with kids is having fun while allowing them to be their wonderful selves. Her deepest hope for all children is that they grow up remembering the brilliance of their own light.
