Album Notes

Who is Epic md?
Epic can be defined as heroic or grand in scale or character. When people ask who is Epic the answer is simple, “He is Christ” the savior for all who trust in Him. I am nothing but dust the only thing I have to offer is Christ, which is where “md”, musical disciple, derives from. I am simply a sinner saved by grace set out to make His name great amongst the nations! The Lord has graciously allowed me to participate in His ministry through the medium of Hip-hop. I have nothing to offer the Hip-hop world but Christ, so why exalt Hip-hop? This is why listeners will here nothing come from my music but Christ, Christ, Christ. The call has not been easy and is sometimes discouraging as I watch professing Christian artist squander opportunities to evangelize, excluding Christ and Biblical content from their lyrics in exchange for a brief moment in the spot light. They become humanitarians or socialist rather than theologians. They fall short of the great commission promoting positivity rather than “repent and believe the gospel”. Professing Christians that desire to talk about everything else but Christ, should reconsider performing before the Church where Christ should always be at center stage. I have concluded through the examination of scripture that the only explanation for this enigma is that they are either ashamed of Christ or don’t know Him at all. With that said I aim to be a reformer even in Hip-hop and remind myself and believers everywhere that our only aim should be to please an audience of One saying “Thy will be done Thy Kingdom come”.
Soli Deo Gloria,
