Triatta came about in an interesting way. Since I was going to write a world tune, I wondered what it would sound like to combine a number of languages into a unified chorus. My first thought was - not so good. But if it could be done, the words might seem intelligible but the emotion of the singing would be universal.
After writing two verses in English, I put the phrasing through Google Translate to get the phonetic results in several other languages. Once that was done, I used the EastWest/Quantum Leap Symphonic Choir library along with Wordbuilder, another EastWest software component to finalize the vocal parts. The song was recorded in my home studio in the Seattle area and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. The end result is a vocal composition with lyrics no one understands, but anyone might appreciate.
Our world is full of complex emotions, and often we seem to be overwhelmed by the sadness, grief and cruelty that is occasionally visited upon all livings things from time to time. Yet our time on Earth is also filled with happiness and contentment and that fact is no better expressed than through our music. Now imagine that expression in one melody, where all languages, all of our voices could blend into one. That's Triatta, a song of Joy." - Gary Paul Bryant
