Album Notes

Geoffrey Osborne's self-titled EP (extended play) contains three powerful tracks, varying in topics from aliens invading the Earth to a lost kitten in a tree. While the lyrics may be tongue-in-cheek at times, the music is anything but.

The EP begins with a synth-heavy, retro, pop song a la The Killers, but it ends just as powerfully with a mature tune that has a classic rock sound. Layered guitars and synth pads weave varying textures over driving beats, with eccentric electronic effects – vocoder and drum machine, for example – accenting the songs with ear-catching breaks.

Guitar solos are a staple of Osborne's sound, supported by powerful, crashing chords reminiscent of The Who. The single, "Come Down", features backup vocals by Michael Chagnon, who also co-produced the EP.
