Athens Georgia is one of the great music towns in America—maybe second only to Austin Texas. Over the past 30 years, Athens has produced some big time bands— B 52’s, REM, Widespread Panic, Drive By Truckers. In the shadows of the high profile rock bands, The Georgia Healers have been plugging away with their vintage, rockin’ blues (usually the house band somewhere). Rarely leaving the Athens scene, The Georgia Healers have still been able to build quite a reputation over the years as a no-nonsense, Texas-style blues outfit.

The Georgia Healers have opened or played with just about any blues act you can think of in the last 30 years-- Willie Dixon, Hound Dog Taylor, George “Harmoinca” Smith, BB King, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Fabulous T-Birds, Ronnie Earl, Anson Funderburgh……. They are currently opening for Tinsley Ellis on his South East tour dates.

Heal This ! was recorded & produced by John Keane of the renown John Keane Studios (REM, Widespread Panic, Cowboy Junkies, Indigo Girls, Uncle Tupelo…). It was recorded live with no effects or over-dubs in less than a day. So, please listen to the enclosed CD at a very loud volume & you will hear exactly what The Georgia Healers sound like live.
