“Till’ The End Of The Line” is an album that I had been wanting to do for a long time. The last rock album that I was involved in was Cozy Powell’s “The Drums Are Back” in 1992. Since then most of the stuff that I have been doing was very much Blues or Blues/Rock based and I felt that it was time to do a “kick-ass” classic hard rock album again.I started writing for the album in the summer of 2009. The first one I wrote for the project was “I’ve Cried The Blues” (for New York City). Then in January of 2010 I started to get seriously stuck into the writing and recording of the rest of the songs. One of the songs “Retribution” was actually written sometime around 97 or 98. A very good friend of mine from London John Sinclair (ex Uriah Heep) was playing keyboards with Ozzy Osbourne at the time and I wrote and presented the song to John in an attempt to get Ozzy to record it but I was told that it wasn’t what he was looking for at the time. So, that song has been “sleeping” for the past 12 or 13 years. For a more comprehensive account of the album and the songs, please check out my website at: www.gerrylane.net.
