Album Notes

Icky's Ego is the hard-hitting/ambient rock collaboration of Dave Crocco (composer, vocals, guitar, keyboards), Cela Scott (composer, vocals, guitar, keyboards), Aaron Scott (lead guitar), Philo Brathwaite (Drums) and Vreny Van Elslande (bass).

Since forming in 2009, the Los Angeles based band has toured throughout California, and released a self-titled EP of original music, along with various singles. The group is currently in pre-production for their first full length album.

Icky's Ego has released two music videos for the singles "Citadel" and "Chimera", the latter of which was the winner of a Best Cinematography Award and an Honorable Mention for Best Music Video at the 2010 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival. The Single "Citadel" won an Honorable Mention for Best Original Song in the 2010 USA Songwriting Competition, the world's leading international songwriting contest.

The band's blog was a first place winner in Ariel Publicity's 2010 Music Success in 9 Weeks blogging contest, and their soon-to-be-released single "7 Days" appeared in the independent feature film "Days Together", a contender for Best Picture at the 2011 Dances With Films Festival, and the 2011 Las Vegas Film Festival..

Whilst listening to songs such as "Killing the Distance" and "Chimera", one can hear the refrains of a little Pretenders with a dash of The White Stripes and Beck. But make no mistake, their music is clearly their own. AFG Must Rock reported, "They have not one, but two incredibly amazing singers in the form of David Crocco and Cela Scott…hyperbole aside, everyone in this band is incredibly talented." Wildy's World Blog posted: "Icky's Ego is unique in purveying ingestible madness in distinctly affable alterna-punk/pop forms."

"The common thread to the artists we love is that they all found a way to be original and approach their music more as an art form than a formula. That is our tactic." states David. Cela adds, "The music and musicians we admire had a vision and expressed a way of life…a certain freedom on a higher level."

In helping to sum up both the band and their philosophy, Dave affirms, "In all of our media, from music to video and on, we delve into the human condition in this insane age of information…we enjoy exploring the ongoing phenomenon that exists between the mind and the heart."

The band strives to keep an open dialogue between their fans regarding their efforts not only to entertain but to inspire, provoke, and galvanize. You can expect your Icky's Ego experience to be mindful, political, sexy, humorous, introspective and a hell of a lot of fun.
