Album Notes

The cover art is a photograph my friend Christiane took in Napa, CA circa October 2006. We were playing around with the exposure on her nice camera, and she took a picture of me as I snapped two disposable cameras' flashes at the same time. That's how we created the cover photo.

This EP is the product of approximately 3 months of work in the studios of the Young Original Collective. Although the EP may not sound impeccably put together, that's the point: part of the Heart of Darkness concept is the lo-fi style of most of the songs.

These songs explore themes ranging from paranoia to the idea of the surreal to the inherent ephemeral nature of human life. Hopefully the listener will glean some meaning from this collection.
