Album Notes

I´ve been doing this a long time - writing songs. Usually, somebody falls in or out of love, you know, things like that. I still write those songs. But, something happened September 11th, 2001. I picked up an ¨Angry¨ Muse to work alongside my old ¨Do Me Daddy¨ Muse. They get along fine, though they often bumped in to each other.

I started scribbling scraps of lyric. For almost 3 years this went on - Little Miss Angry popping in and out. It wasn´t until I viewed HBO´S ¨Band Of Brothers¨ that the song ¨Kids-1944¨ became what was really the first song for ¨Hanging Out With The Boys¨ Little Miss Angry apparently doesn´t know the meaning of chronological order, but, it worked. I was still pissed off and they started coming fairly often after that.

I´ve arranged the songs to tell a story, of sorts, of my journey of respect and admiration for my country´s men and women of arms - not only in the present war, but past wars also. I truly believe the old saying; ¨No one hates war more than the soldier.¨

So, these songs are for them who go in harms way in our stead. Thank you all. - James Hooker, 19 June, 2010.
