Singer/songwriter Jason Vigil has quite the buzz going in his hometown of Denver since the release of his debut album, Heart Gone Sober. While most independent artists are still struggling to find their feet months after their debut release; Jason Vigil not only has solid footing, but he is off to a running start. Vigil debuted his release to a sold out CD Release party at The Walnut Room in Denver in November, and his intense live performances are opening eyes on both a local and national level. With a fall college tour in the works, as a response to a successful radio campaign that enjoyed top 20 adds along the East coast; Jason is poised to increase his fan base at a swift rate.
Like a story understood by all, Heart Gone Sober delves deep into the life of a bleeding heart. Vigil's unique songs that blend alternative, pop, and rock reflect and reveal that, with time, a person can sober up from substances, relationships or even life itself, and find direction.
Performing Songwriter recently reviewed Heart Gone Sober as one of their Top 12 DIY releases for the 100th edition of the magazine. “Jason Vigil displays a keen pop sensibility and a knack for tapping directly into the heart of a song like a modern-day Buddy Holly. No unnecessary fluff, not one wasted note—just catchy melodies and lyrics that make a visceral statement” boasted the review. The review follows accolades such as being one of the top 10 unsigned bands on tastemaker site, Alternative Addiction, as well as being included on the industry sampler from Band Promote.
Vigil’s musical style has been compared to Matchbox 20, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, and Jeff Buckley. Vigil emanates powerful hooks with a smooth, passionate manner and flowing energy, with or without his band. With a national level recording, industry interest, and secure presence within his hometown region, Vigil definitely seems to have all the pieces in place to break to the next level.

Impressive album featuring strong vocals and fantastic instrumentation
author: Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
An up and coming alternative/pop rock artist Jason Vigil and his latest album “Heart Gone Sober” is one you won’t want to miss listening to. Vigil’s vocals are powerful and strong while the band is pure and never overbearing. The entire collection has a great complementing mix between vocals and instruments while lyrics are exceptionally flowing. In the title track “Heart Gone Sober,” the lyrics present an appealing optimistic point of view. An acoustic performance, “Sad Month” is evidence of the talent of Vigil’s solo performance. Vigil shows his ability to reach a higher vocal range in the beginning of “Come to Me” while the energy of alternative rock influence kicks in. If you like to listen to John Mayer or Matchbox 20 you will positively want to hear Jason Vigil’s “Heart Gone Sober.”
