Album Notes

Jeff Horwich is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, journalist and public radio host. "Small Town Heroics" is a collection of especially folk-ish tunes based on real people (and, OK, one ubiquitous magazine ad for language-learning software).

The Smarts (including Jeff) are a group of Twin Cities musicians who write songs about everything from Kim Jong Il to patchy cell-phone connections to Googling old girlfriends. They were the house band for the Minnesota Public Radio show "In The Loop," and can now been seen each month as the house band for St. Paul's "Sample Night Live" variety show.
