Album Notes

Jill Andrews is celebrating the freedom that working under her own name allows.  As an independent artist free of musical partnerships or label entanglements, she has been able to record and release her new material her way and on her terms.  And she's enjoying that freedom, "I wanted to go about this with a different approach to see what I could accomplish on my own when paired with a really good management team - so far, so good."

Andrews assembled a new band with Chad Melton on drums, Vince Illagan on bass, Robert Richards on lead guitar, and the everybodyfields' Josh Oliver on keys and harmony.  The new EP was produced by Jill Andrews; recorded by Scott Minor, the drummer and multi-instrumentalist and frequent collaborator in the experimental folk rock band Sparklehorse, at Elkgang in Knoxville, TN. "Scott's got all this old analog equipment that he's tweaked out to make some of the most simple, honest and beautiful recordings." Mastering was done by Doug Lancio at Studio G in Nashville, TN.

Is it like the everybodyfields material?  “It's a natural progression. It's not way out there or anything, but it is different. Some of my songs are more rockin' now and thematically more hopeful”
