The album was recorded one February night in 2009 in front of a studio audience by engineer Andrew Jacobs. Artist Joe Jack Talcum is a founding member of the band The Dead Milkmen. For this set he performs a handful of songs he wrote with that band, as well as some newer songs of his own, plus a song by contemporary American songwriter Micah Blue Smaldone. There are no overdubs on this recording. Everything was recorded in one take, as a show. Accompanying Mr. Talcum is independent artist Hugh Hamilton on slide guitar and backing vocals, and Marshall Fischer on occasional percussion, to round out the sound.
