If music could be described as translucent then this album would be it. A beautiful, seamless blend of atmospheric sounds of the sea and music; sparse, subtly melodic orchestrations and ambient pads of synthesizers, piano or chiming electric piano.

Album Notes

Yoga teacher-musician Johann Kotze loves the ocean, and composed these tracks to seamlessly blend with atmospheric sounds of the sea. From the mellow easy listening "Ethereal Chime" to the ambient dub of 'Deep Mind Remix (Ocean Dub)' to the two long therapeutic "New beginnings" tracks his love of mood music and the ocean is as clear as the sounds that envelops the listener of this collection.

"Ambient Ocean" is at once contemplative and soothing. The sensitive listener will appreciate the "breathing" quality of the music, and any space used for therapy or healing, and even down-tempo public spaces will benefit form its tranquil mood. "Lullaby", with its beautiful cello and its surprising mezzo soprano brings a haunting, melancholic end to the album.

The simultaneously released "Sky Cafe", includes a different mix of "Dolphin play" without ocean sounds, and a somewhat more upbeat, breezy collection of orchestral, piano and electronica sounds that blends really well with "Ambient Ocean". Also check out the double CD (containing Being 2 & 3) for the classic Being Music deep healing/meditation/therapy sound.
