If you could see this music it would look like a chameleon wearing a Bob Marley t-shirt, a Santana Ball Cap, a Toby Keith belt buckle with a gold cross hanging around its neck and a pair of Cold Play concert tickets in the left back pocket of its black leather pants. "Choose One" features several genres of music (Pop, Soft Rock, Country, Christian Contemporary and World music) with a distinct flavor and a reoccurring theme (priorities.) Album Notes

CPR Music Publishing is Jerry Jona and Jack Viohl. They first met at Concordia College, Portland, Oregon in 1984. Soon after discovering that they had a passion for writing music, they became good friends and began collaborating. A few years later they formed the band "Madhatter". Although Madhatter never made it on the national scene, the band was able to garner some attention from local media. They recorded 3-albums and was nominated for a "crystal award"- Portland's version of the Grammy's- where they were up against the "Cherry Poppin Daddy's" who have gone on to national fame with the song "zoot suit riot". When the tide shifted from their style of music to "Grunge", Jerry decided to pass on the dream of becoming a rockstar and moved back home to Hawaii. A year later Jack moved to Hawaii and both hooked up again and began writing. On a dare one evening, Jack entered a Karaoke contest at a festival on the island of Kauai. Jack ended up winning that contest and soon after entered a singing competition called Hawaii Stars. It was through Hawaii Stars where Jack began receiving attention for his voice and within a few months after that competition, the writing tandem of Jona & Viohl was signed by Hitown Records where they released their debut album as "Kanaka Pride". The band's success was short lived with two songs making the Top 10 charts at local radio stations. In 1996 they wrote the song "You Need Somebody" which was recorded by Hawaiian Female Vocalist of the year Robi Kahakalau on her second titled release "Keiki O Ka 'Aina" which she recorded and performed with Hawaiian Male Vocalist of the year "Keali'i Reichel". The song that took roughly 15 minutes to write, was featured again on a compilation CD released by the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific.

Fifteen years since their last album project, Jona & Viohl started CPR Music Publishing with the intent of making music for others to record. They have teamed up with Engineer / Musician Ariki Foster (native to New Zealand) and International singer /songwriter Yuka Matsuda (A.K.A. Yukalicious) from Japan to create 11 brand new original songs, and a remake of the Beatle's cover "Let It Be" with an island twist. With the variety of cross genres on Jona, Foster & Viohl- Choose One, you are certain to find something you like.
