ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“PUSH” Metronome Magazine - September 1998
"This CD represents a collection of songs that were released both past and present featuring band founder-guitarist Bill Stu as lead vocalist. Since former lead singer Jim Morgan departed from the group, Bill Stu has assumed the lead vocal chores, and by doing so, has guided the band into a harder edged sound. His guitar work is by far Stu's stronger suit as his Tony Iommi influenced licks are fiery and well executed. Meanwhile, bandmates Teri Francis on bass, Mike Burgess on second guitar and drummer Mark Oliveira hold court for a guitar lover's outing."

“PUSH” N.F.A. / Noisy Fans of America Issue 10
"Yes, finally after 2 years, Jozlin Bones' third CD is about to become reality. This "self-titled" CD has 12 songs that will kick your ass! With some old favorites like Out of Control and Outta Sight to some new fresh material like Rocket, Push and Shockwave it will please just about any fan of the hard rock vein. N.F.A. encourages you to support this great rock 'n' roll band.

“PUSH” Boston SoundCheck Magazine September/October 1998
"Geez it's a whole CD of riff rock beginning with one of the coolest licks I've heard in a riff rock song all day. the song is called Push and its got all the attitude that R & R is known for. Got a fine band picture on the back of the CD and two bony corpses in the familiar, prone embrace-of-love inside the insert. Simply gruesome. Cut number seven Y2K is a dreamscape with synth, guitars and cymbals up front and hey this band has a girl playing bass. [Thought you might like to know]. Shockwave is my fave tune, but I also like Outta Sight, Lady, and the radio ready Get Ready. That last one has another hook-riff that sticks to the walls of your memory and won't let go. Guitars are alive and well despite rumors to the contrary."

“PUSH” Aiding & Abetting #158 May 1998
"I liked the Jozlin Bones II disc. The band had a fresh approach to basic metal, just enough of a twist to keep me appeased. The follow-up tape, which didn't have that same attitude, disappointed me. Bill Stu, guitarist and now vocalist, told me there was a reason the tape was not a CD. The stuff wasn't quite good enough, in the band's opinion. With Stu singing, the songs are now even more based on rhythm, and that somewhat more grinding approach (imagine Black Sabbath as played by Kiss) once again gives the band a fresh sound. Yeah, there's a fine line to walk between what the band wants to do and what its fans want to hear, but I think Jozlin Bones has rediscovered that feel. Just some basic heavy rock and roll, nothing complicated, nothing extravagant. The songs focus on the grooves, and they are much better for that fact. This stuff flies instead of plodding, and that makes all the difference. I'm impressed, once again. The tape was an anomaly. Jozlin Bones knows how to wring out some fine tunes."

“GET READY” The NewEngland Performer November 1997
"Rock with progressive tendencies. These guys rock with intelligence"

“GET READY” BLACK PROMISES Magazine June/July 1997
"Get Ready" is the latest release by this five member rock outfit from Boston. There is so much going for this disk that I don't know where to begin! Check out the rhythym, that soul, and that power, that's one thing these days that is a rare blend in the music scene. This band has labeled themselves "Kick Ass Rock N' Roll" because they're one of the few bands that can! Their demo is 9 songs with "There She Goes"an electric favorite!

“GET READY” METRONOME Magazine July 1997
After a lineup change, Jozlin Bones has returned with a rockier sounding effort. ...it's a lot better sounding than the crap we're being subjected to these days. Folks who like their rock and roll straight up will find sanctuary with Jozlin Bones...

“GET READY” N. F. A. / Noisy Fans of America Issue 9 - July 1997
One of the many NFA's favorite unsigned bands is Jozlin Bones. They keep blasting out the music. The group's third release Get Ready has eight-songs ans is their best effort to date! The four piece bad hails from Boston, MA and are straight-ahead kick ass rock and roll with a "in your face" attitude.... This band deserves to be heard...

“JOZLIN BONES II” Stars of Tomorrow May/June 1997
Their music is a hard acid rock with strong, clear vocals, triple guitar onslaught and a raging rhythm section. Their songwriting and arrangement abilites are excellent. This band is extremely talented and I won't be at all surprised to see these guys become a popular national act in the near future.

“JOZLIN BONES II” The Underground Music Connection Issue 20 February 1997
Jozlin Bones has what it takes... they produce a solid sound that is all their own.
Music Reviews by Lori Burton

“JOZLIN BONES II” METRONOME Magazine Volume 11 - Issue 9 - October
If you put AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ted Nugent in the same room and spin it around, the acid rock of Jozlin Bones would pour out in abundance. Searing lead guitar work over a caustic rhythm section is what you get when Jozlin Bones plugs in the Marshalls and cranks 'em up... The acid core psychedelia of Jozlin Bones is here to stay... get used to it!

“JOZLIN BONES II” N. F. A. / Noisy Fans of America Issue 7 - September 1996
Having written for the NFA for a few years now, I get lots of discs in the mail to check out. Most of them make me wonder if they read my reviews at all. I'm subjected to a lot of alternative, rap, and others I don't care to mention. But occasionally a CD makes to me that's in the vein and style I so many others love and miss... Jozlin Bones is such a CD that I long for. As soon as I heard the first cut single Made For Killin I knew I was going to like this and I was right. The band definitely gotten their rock chops down. Though their are only seven songs on this CD, this CD is a great one for hard rock fans....

“WELCOME TO AMERICA” Metronome Magazine Volume 13 - Issue 7 - July 1995
Jozlin Bones' ... fuzz laden guitar assault is reminiscent of Cream, Sabbath... Steppenwolf. There grungy enough to satisfy today's youth... and the 60's psychedelia, a cross they bear well. If its a... good time your looking for, give Jozlin Bones a shake. They'll rattle ya right down to the core.

“WELCOME TO AMERICA” The New England Performer December 1995
Jozlin Bones infuse elements of blues rock 'n' roll that slides between heavy duty hard rock and raw blues rock... Guitarist Bill Stu skillfully displays the dexterity of metal and the soul of blues... overall Welcome to America offers up a great dose of bluesy rock 'n' roll an offer I wont refuse...

DEMO Metronome Magazine Volume 9 - Issue 10 - October 1994
Jozlin Bones has a heavy, earthy quality to their music. A better barroom band you won't find anywhere..... If you like your rock down and dirty, Jozlin Bones will be your cure.
HEARINGS by Douglas Sloane

DEMO Metronome Magazine Volume 8 - Issue 9 - September 1993
Jozlin Bones rides a cranked-up guitar driven train over a... track that conjures up images of whiskey, women, and wildness. I'm most impressed by the musical abilities the band displays...
