Album Notes

This past year and a half has been a crazy one for many of us. I know countless people whose marriages have been rocked, whose lives have been rearranged, who’ve lost their jobs and even their homes. Global turmoil, sickness, natural disasters, massive tragedies and economic chaos has plagued us and brought depression, hopelessness and broken hearts to many I know. However, in the midst of all of this insecurity and change we can still stand firm knowing that there is a Creator, a Redeemer, a Healer, a Restorer, a Faithful Provider, and an everlasting God named Jesus Christ who is alive, and who sits on the throne totally in control of everything going on. We do have hope, we just forget it. It’s so easy to be burdened and broken by everything going on when we live our lives based on what we feel. But, if we acknowledge how we feel, and yet live based upon what we know is true, we can have hope and victory in the midst of everything going on around us.
That’s what this cd is all about. It’s filled with songs that have become anthems in our church that remind us that God is an everlasting God! That He’s not only with us but In us, our hope of Glory. That His love never fails, and that He makes all things work together for my good. Songs that reminds us that we’ve been transferred out of the dominion of darkness and into a marvelous light, and that greater things are still to come and still to be done in my life and the life of this city.
I pray that with every song, your spirit is encouraged and your heart is ignited to live your life based upon what you know is true rather than how you feel. As the church, we need to be people filled with hope, filled with joy, filled with life and filled with unconditional love and generosity in the midst of this darkness. Why? Because the stage has been set, and just like the beginning of a massive rock concert, the lights are down, the bass is thumping, and the atmosphere is buzzing with energy and electricity. Anticipation and excitement are filling the air all awaiting the explosion of life and sound that will erupt from the darkness when the band takes to the stage. The stage is set! The church is God’s headlining band and all of creation is waiting for us to run out and STAND on the stage of life to bring forth the power and greatness of God in it’s fullness. It will happen, and when it does, basic creation will ring forth, “where there is light, darkness flees for darkness cannot exist in the existence of light.” When that day comes this verse in Isaiah will be the reality of the anthem being brought to life.
