Review -Arts Forum – Canada’s Magazine of the Art & Ideas
Thirteen songs for Christmas from the talented Canadian singer/songwriter Kelita, who combines Christian music themes with a polished country music sound. She has a strong, confident voice, all the charisma of a Shania Twain, and the conviction of a woman of faith. This album has traditional favorites, like “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, mostly in the markedly untraditional, but not unpleasing, arrangements by Gord Lemon. The standouts are “Silent Night” and “Let’s Make a Baby King” (Where the Afro-Gospel sound shows off all facets of the artist’s vocal ability). And there’s Celine Dion’s “Don’t Save if All for Christmas Day,” which sounds as good as if Dion herself were singing it.

"OK - so here we go again... going through songs from a 'Canadian' Christmas project. Typically we experience many tracks with good intentions, but short on polish. Kelita's New 'Heavenly Night' Christmas project has nothing but shine! Her project is so good, that every single track has been added to our Christmas rotation! Congratulations on a project that sets the bar for all others to follow."

Kelita's Thoughts
Although I have wanted to record a Christmas album for years this album project was produced for the purpose of raising funds for young girls in Cambodia who are survivors of the child sex trade. Its been one of the most rewarding projects I have ever taken on. To find out more about this very special project please visit www.heavenlynight.org. and learn the truths about the child sex trade in Cambodia and how you can be involved in restoring these children's lives.

Although Heavenly Night is an uplifting collection of Christmas music there are a few songs for those who find difficulty in celebrating the Christmas season. I wanted to acknowledge this large group of people and encourage them. I know because I have been there myself.

The title trackHeavenly Night, was written just after the birth of my first and only child Keldon. What better inspiration than that of the unconditional love for your baby. I imagined that Mary - mother of Jesus - experienced those very same emotions. This song is now being sung by individuals and choirs during the Christmas season. For me, it will always remain one of the most precious songs I have had the priviledge of writing.
